Uzbekistan and Latvia Discuss Expanding Cooperation in Digital Technologies, Postal Services, and E-Commerce

The discussions focused on the current state of digital cooperation between Uzbekistan and Latvia and explored opportunities to strengthen collaboration in digital transformation, artificial intelligence, cybersecurity, digital public services, cloud technologies, information technology, and digital skills development.
Both sides emphasize the importance of deepening cooperation in the digital economy by expanding practical initiatives and strengthening partnerships between government institutions, technology companies, and the private sector.
The Latvian side invited the Uzbek delegation to participate in the Techritory Forum, to be held in Latvia on 21–22 October, as a platform for further strengthening bilateral cooperation and promoting new partnerships.
The meeting also covered the development of startup ecosystems, venture capital investment, technology entrepreneurship, and the implementation of innovative projects. The Uzbek side presented the country's startup support mechanisms, including initiatives designed to encourage private investment and accelerate innovation.
Particular attention was given to the activities of IT Park Uzbekistan, opportunities to expand exports of IT outsourcing services, attract more European technology companies to Uzbekistan, and leverage the growing network of regional IT Park branches to support digital business development.
The parties also discussed expanding cooperation in postal services and e-commerce. Key areas included strengthening collaboration between the postal operators of both countries, increasing international postal exchange, introducing modern logistics solutions for cross-border e-commerce, studying Latvia's experience in postal logistics centers and automated parcel terminals, and developing efficient transport corridors linking Central Asia and Europe through Uzbekistan and Latvia.
The meeting concluded with both sides reaffirming their commitment to advancing cooperation in digital technologies, artificial intelligence, innovation, startup development, postal services, e-commerce, and logistics through joint projects and continued practical dialogue.
