Uzbekistan and GSMA Discuss Digital Transformation and Expansion of Telecommunications Infrastructure

During the meeting, the parties discussed ongoing reforms in Uzbekistan aimed at advancing digital transformation, developing telecommunications infrastructure and expanding internet access for the population.
Particular attention was given to initiatives focused on increasing the availability of affordable digital devices and low-cost telecommunications tariffs, as well as strengthening digital skills and expanding connectivity opportunities across the country.
Representatives of GSMA highly praised Uzbekistan’s experience in developing digital competencies and fostering a dynamic startup ecosystem.
The discussions also covered international approaches to the integration of satellite communications with mobile networks, along with regulatory frameworks governing low-orbit satellite systems and emerging telecommunications technologies.
At the conclusion of the talks, both sides expressed readiness to further expand cooperation in the areas of digital infrastructure, telecommunications and innovation, while also strengthening collaboration on international platforms and advancing joint initiatives.
